In Review: Life Sciences Day in Olympia 2009
Our ninth annual Life Sciences Day in Olympia was by all reports a success! Everything we did on January 27th – from the meeting with Governor Chris Gregoire, meetings in teams with legislators, to the legislative reception at the close of day – received a mention as ranking among your favorite activities in our post event survey. (The survey was completed by nearly half of the participants.) More than a few of the nearly 100 attendees at the reception commented on the “energy” of the reception buzzing with more than 30 state representatives and senators, company execs, high school science students and teachers and UW post grad researchers. Everyone was in agreement that the life sciences sector in Washington was a vibrant and critical part of the state’s future economy.
